Fantasy Premier League: Top Five Best Forwards to Pick Out for FPL Gameweek 10

We’ve assembled our initial selection for the Top five Forwards/Strikers for Gameweek 10 in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL). Keep in mind that this list may change as more information becomes available closer to the deadline, including any injury news or any crucial updates from the press conference in the coming days.

After the weekend’s Premier League matches, Fantasy Premier League managers will be evaluating their teams, either feeling frustrated or elated based on the outcomes and player performances.

As we head into the 10th week of the Premier League, FPL managers might be considering making adjustments to their squads, especially with changes in fixtures and the emergence of new in-form teams.

Whether you’re contemplating minor tweaks or a significant overhaul of your FPL team, here are five forwards you should consider keeping an eye on as we approach Gameweek 10.

Gabriel Jesus

With Gabriel Jesus priced at £7.9 million, now that he’s returned from injury and with an improved fixture schedule for Arsenal, it’s a good moment to reconsider him for your Fantasy Premier League (FPL) squad. Arsenal currently holds the top spot in terms of odds for matches with over 2.5 goals in Gameweek 10.

Moreover, in the previous season, Arsenal were the second-highest-scoring team after Manchester City. Given these factors, it’s becoming increasingly important to include Arsenal’s attacking options in your FPL team, considering their favorable upcoming fixtures.

Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa are currently riding a wave of success, having won 11 consecutive home matches, and they’re gearing up for their 12th. Ollie Watkins, priced at £8.3 million, has been a key contributor to this impressive form and currently stands as the highest-scoring player in the game as of now.

Watkins also boasts a strong track record against newly promoted teams. In the 2020-2021 season, he played seven matches against such teams and managed to produce returns in five of them. Additionally, he accumulated a remarkable 19 points in matches against promoted sides last season, thanks to his goal-scoring and assist-making abilities.

Erling Haaland

This week, Manchester City faces a significant showdown with their local rivals, Manchester United. While this fixture may appear challenging, it’s worth noting that Manchester United have shown some worrying defensive vulnerabilities this season. Therefore, it would be unwise to underestimate the impact of striker Erling Haaland, priced at £14 million.

Haaland may have only had one season of facing Manchester United, but he certainly left a mark. The Norwegian striker amassed an impressive 25 points against them last season, courtesy of his contribution of three goals and two assists.

Dominic Solanke

The upcoming Saturday clash at the Vitality Stadium carries immense significance for the winless Bournemouth side, and it could potentially be a make-or-break fixture for their head coach, Andoni Iraola, assuming he remains in charge until then.

Despite Bournemouth’s struggles, Dominic Solanke has been a standout performer, notching four goals in nine games. He enters the match against the league’s second-worst defense with hopes of adding to his goal tally.

Solanke’s impressive record includes 21 shots taken within the opposition’s penalty area, a statistic bettered by only four other forwards in FPL. Valued at £6.4 million, he has accumulated 39 FPL points. In Gameweek 10, Bournemouth faces Burnley at home, making Solanke an appealing choice for FPL managers in search of a budget-friendly forward with a potent goal-scoring record.

Wilson/Isak

Both Wilson and Isak of Newcastle are undeniably talented players. However, neither of them consistently completes a full 90 minutes on the pitch. With the arrival of the Champions League for Newcastle, it’s likely that they will have to split their playing time.

This means that while one of them could have an outstanding performance in one game, there’s a chance they might find themselves on the bench in the next. While both players have the potential to shine during Newcastle’s upcoming fixtures, the question remains whether their shared playing time will be sufficient to outperform other forwards and midfielders in the same price range over the course of the season.

What’s big news this weekend

It’s a rare sight to see Erling Haaland not leading the Gameweek rankings, but Ollie Watkins has managed to surpass him. Watkins is set to play at home against Luton Town on Sunday, while Haaland faces the Manchester derby. Watkins has an impressive record at home this season, with four goals and six assists, making him an appealing choice as a differential captain for Gameweek 10.

Gabriel Jesus is still part of the rankings, but he appears to have suffered a hamstring injury during the match against Sevilla on Tuesday. While Eddie Nketiah could step in as a natural replacement, his expected point tally might not match Jesus’s. It’s doubtful that we’ll see Jesus in the starting lineup this weekend, which means we may need to lower our expectations for all Arsenal players when they face Sheffield United.
