WATCH: Erling Haaland’s goal from Kevin de Bruyne’s brilliant pass against Tottenham
Erling Haaland started to show himself as a big time player. When Manchester City needed a goal to ensure the three points from Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Tuesday night, he came to save the day.Â
Six minutes after the break, Haaland broke the deadlock with his close-range goal and turned the home end of the stadium into a whole silence. Starting from a counter-attack situation, Phil Foden sent the ball to Bernardo Silva who forwarded it into Kevin De Bruyne.
Erling Haaland’s goal was as easy as it can get
De Bruyne then delivered a low cross into the centre of the box which found the path of Haaland. The latter slotted it into the next from a point-blank range to an empty net. It was Haaland’s 26 goals this season.
The Norwegian leads the top scorer rank with Chelsea’s Cole Palmer being his closest rival with 21 goals. For Haaland, his current tally so far is 10 goals less than he did last season with 36 goals in 38 games.
With the current situation stands, City lead two points over Arsenal at the table top. If they win this game, there is still one game to win to secure the new record of four consecutive league titles. In the final showdown this season, City will host West Ham United home on Sunday, 18 May at the Etihad Stadium.
