Emile Smith Rowe Set for Fulham Switch as Arsenal Agree Deal
Arsenal midfielder Emile Smith Rowe is on the verge of completing a transfer to Fulham with the deal expected to be finalized next week.
The 23-year-old was notably absent from Arsenal’s squad for their pre-season friendly against Manchester United at the SoFi Stadium signalling his impending departure.
Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the situation, stating: “Things are happening in the background.” As the clubs work out the final details of the transfer, which could see Smith Rowe move for a fee of up to £35 million.
Smith Rowe who emerged as a promising talent from Arsenal’s academy struggled to find consistent form last season partly due to a prolonged hip injury.
His move to Fulham would make him the Gunners’ most valuable academy sale surpassing previous records.
The midfielder had only four starts in all competitions last season with his last goal for Arsenal dating back to April 2022.
Fulham fans will hope that a change of scenery will help Smith Rowe rediscover the form that made him one of England’s brightest young talents.
