Eden Hazard names the ideal man to replace Mauricio Pochettino at Chelsea
Last week, Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino cut ties with the West London club after leading the club to a European spot despite a turbulent spell in his first year at Stamford Bridge.
Pochettino joined the club on a two-year deal last summer, with an option to extend it for another 12 months. Despite initial struggles, the Argentine manager secured a sixth-place finish for the Blues with some consistent performances in the closing stages of 2023–24 campaign.
Chelsea legend Eden Hazard was not happy after Chelsea decided to end their ties with Mauricio Pochettino after the conclusion of the 2023/24 campaign.
Hazard said: “I was a bit sad, to be fair. I think that he did a great job. I know that people want Chelsea to be in the top four but it’s just a season of transition.
“He’s a great manager, I wish him good luck and let’s see who is going to be there in the future.”
But the Argentine won’t be out of the fold for much longer as a host of teams including Manchester United and England are interested in his services.
For Chelsea, a bunch of replacements are being considered for the managerial role with former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi leading the race. The Italian manager is considered a viable option along with Kieran McKenna, Enzo Maresca, and Thomas Frank.

The former Blues forward jokingly suggested club legend Cesc Fabregas for the managerial role, who is currently assistant to recently promoted Serie B side Como. The Spaniard has played a vital role in helping the Italian club earn promotion to Serie A after 21 years.
Hazard said: “Maybe. I have my friend also in Como. He can be the first manager.”
