“Manager shouldn’t have to say much”: David Beckham sends message to Manchester United players ahead of FA Cup final
David Beckham sends message to Man United players
David Beckham who is the former player of the Premier League club Man United has something to say about the players of the Red Devils in his latest interview with English media outlet ‘talkSPORT’. The 49-year-old Englishman pretty much hinted at the verdict that a player playing for Man United shouldn’t be in any need of an external motivation to give his best. Beckham reportedly asserted –
“I think that’s the whole point of being a Manchester United player and playing in these big games, you should be motivated”. Beckham further pointed out – “When you are a professional footballer and you’re doing the job that you love and you’re at the club that you love, when you’re playing in any game whether it’s a regular season game or whether it’s an FA Cup final against your rivals, then that should be enough motivation”.
Inflicting on the upcoming FA Cup finals of Man United vs Man City, the veteran midfielder stated – “That’s what you’d hope at any team and any player for Manchester United, go into an FA Cup final against Manchester City with enough motivation that a manager shouldn’t have to say much”. From the statements of David Beckham, a sense of sincerity and devotion that a player should have towards his club can be depicted.
United have hit a new low this season after their recent Premier League loss against Crystal Palace. The Red Devils suffered a denting 4-0 defeat at Selhurst Park. The result has once again toppled questions of Erik ten Hag’s game plan and strategy at the English club with Man United registering the tally of most losses in a single league season and further adding to it by equaling the most goals conceded by them ever in a top-tier campaign. Things just keep getting worse for the Red Devils, as their major players have been delivering underwhelming performances lately.
However, the only thing that remains the light in the tunnel for the club is their much anticipated FA Cup final clash against arch-rivals Man City. If Erik ten Hag manages to guide his team to a European finish this season in the league table and then can ice it up by winning the FA Cup trophy, it could turn out to be a major rescue act for the club going into the closing stages of the 2023-2024 season. Having said that the Dutch manager’s future at the club still remains up in the air at this moment of time.
