Crystal Palace vs Southampton Player Ratings – Palace turn it around as Southampton winless streak goes to ten

Crystal Palace end their three game winless streak as they won 2-1 after going down early in the first half, thanks to goals from Chalobah and Eze. Palace dominated the game throughout despite conceding early and this result puts them back into winning ways just before the year ends and they steer six points clear of the dropzone. The nightmare streak continues for Southampton, despite showing an improvement from their previous outings. This result ensured their winless streak go on, as they are craving for a win since the last ten games, with a last win coming in early November.

Crystal Palace started strongly and had an early chance when Eze hit his shot straight to Ramsdale. Despite the dominance of the home side, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock after Dibling scored against the run of play. Palace continued to play good football, and were rewarded with a goal when Chalobah headed one in from a corner routine. Crystal Palace continued the efforts, but the score remained level after half-time.

Palace continued the momentum and on the 52nd minute, Eze fired Palace into the lead after a messy build-up play from his teammates. The dominance continued, despite Southampton making tactical changes. While it was surprising that Glasner did not make substitutions until the final few minutes, it did not affect the team that much as Palace looked comfortable in retaining the lead.
