Pochettino’s comments ahead of Chelsea vs Liverpool
Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Friday, the Argentine expressed how grateful him and his coaching staff were to have a crack at a trophy.
“It means a lot for us, the coaching staff to have the possibility to arrive on the final and to challenge a team like Liverpool to win our first title here.
“It’s a dream for us, the coaching staff. And of course, we have 90 minutes to achieve that and yes, we are going to fight. The team is ready, we are going to be very competitive and it is a massive chance for us.”
The manager will be raring to go ahead of the final but will have a few tough selections to make. Goalkeeper Robert Sanchez has returned to full training but Dorde Petrovic has been phenomenal in his absence.
Meanwhile, Levi Colwill and Axel Disasi performed well as the starting centre-back pairing against Manchester City in last week’s 1-1 draw. With Thiago Silva on the brink of fitness, the manager will have to decide whether to go with youngsters or a veteran for a final.
Attacker Christopher Nkunku also has a chance of making the final but is likely to be included among the substitutes rather than start.
