Chelsea goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina completes loan move to Barnsley FC

Chelsea and USMNT goalkeeper Gabriel Slonina has completed his season-long loan move to Barnsley FC. He spent the last season on loan with Belgian top-flight side KAS Eupen, where he made 34 appearances for the first-team.

Slonina made his debut for the senior USMNT side in 2023 in a 2-1 defeat to Serbia and has represented his national side at several international levels. The 20-year-old goalkeeper arrived at Stamford Bridge from Chicago Fire in the summer of 2022.

He also spent the summer with the U.S. men’s national team at the Olympic Games but did not make an appearance for the U-23 side.
