Chelsea Fixtures for Premier League 2024/25: Key Matches, Kick-Off Times, Schedule, and Venues
The Premier League campaign of the 2023-24 season for Chelsea didn’t start on expected note. After spending a sum close to about £1 billion in the transfer market, the London-based club struggled to put together impressive on-field performances under their new Argentine manager Mauricio Pochettino.
With five points to their tally in their first six matches of the season, and having one win under their belt, they looked a side far off from producing the performances which were expected of them before the start of the campaign. In this initial run, they had a draw with Liverpool, and Bournemouth, a win over Luton Town, and a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United, and 0-1 defeats to Aston Villa and Nottingham Forest respectively.
For most of the season, they did languish around the 10-12th spot in the table and looked far off from any European qualification hopes. In between their mixed form, there were some impressive performances, but they weren’t able to stitch together a decent amount of wins at most of the stages to show any signs of major improvement.
On the other domestic competitions front, Chelsea did reach the final of the Carabao Cup (EFL Cup) under Mauricio Pochettino. But, they lost the game 0-1 to almost a second-string Liverpool side marked by a notable sum of very young players. In the FA Cup, they did manage to beat Leicester City in the quarterfinal by a thumping scoreline of 4-2 but lost out to Man City in the semi-finals narrowingly.
However, something turned in the second half of the previous Premier League season for the Blues as all of a sudden emergence of the players like Cole Palmer, and Conor Gallagher started to build a bit of momentum for them and guided the team to an amazing run of results. Chelsea turned out a corner and made a dart towards the European spots. With memorable matches including a 4-3 win over Man United and a 2-2 draw at Villa Park, they carried on the momentum till the closing stages of the season.
As a result finished sixth in the standings. An achievement in the sense that nobody would have even thought of it the way they started their season. However, Man United winning the FA Cup did take away Chelsea’s Europa League berth and made it a Europa Conference League qualification.
After a nourishing end to the season, fans were hoping to see their side perform on even better notes in the 2024-25 Premier League season. But shocking news appeared as the club’s board decided to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino on mutual consent. The decision left many wondering, knowing how much improvement they made under the Argentine in recent times.
Enzo Maresca now has been appointed as Chelsea’s new head coach to take charge from the 2024-25 season. The 44-year-old Italian manager recently led Leicester City to the Premier League promotion after winning the 2023-24 EFL Championship title. While veteran centre-back Thiago Silva left the club after an astounding service of about 4 years or so, others like Trevoh Chalobah, Malang Sarr, and Carney Chukwuemeka are the players expected to leave the club this summer.
Big players like Raheem Sterling and Conor Gallagher are also tipped among the players on which the club has yet to take a call. In the transfer market, some of the major players the Blues have been linked to are Atletico Madrid’s Samu Omorodion and Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise. Although it did seem like their potential transfer target of Brazilian club Sport Recife’s Pedro Lima has been hijacked by Wolves.
While Omorodin could solve their number nine issues, the striker is likely to be available at a higher price tag. Michael Olise could be someone that Enzo Maresca would target if Conor Gallagher is to leave this summer. It remains to be seen how much backing the board will give to their newly appointed head coach in this window. For now, we take a look at Chelsea fixtures for the 2024-25 Premier League season.

Chelsea Key Fixtures in 2024-25 Premier League Season
Chelsea begins their 2024-25 Premier League campaign against reigning Champions Man City on their home turf of Stamford Bridge. It can be classified that the Blues are set for a tough start to the campaign as in terms of a competitor it can’t get tougher than Man City these days in the top-flight of English football or perhaps the world football. Although Chelsea did manage to pull out a scintillating 4-4 draw the last time these two sides met at the Bridge, it still will be a game of nerves for Enzo Maresca’s team.
However, after the fixture against City, Chelsea wouldn’t be coming across any other major top-six sides till half past October. The Blues will be facing Liverpool at the Anfield on October 19. Though the position they will be in leading into that fixture will play a major role, history reckons Liverpool at Anfield is always a tough side to beat.
Within a span of just over a month starting from early November and lasting till the first week of December, Chelsea will come across teams like Man United, as well as London rivals like Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur. This period could prove to define the rest of the second half of the season for the Blues and the spot on the table for which they could be aiming for.
