Chelsea fans unhappy with the new leaked Nike home kit for next season
The last few years haven’t been good for any Chelsea fan as while the takeover by Todd Boehly and Clearlake Capital was supposed to send the club back to the top, things haven’t gone to plan. Instead, the Blues missed out on European football for the first time in years as they finished 12th on the league table, well behind the other “Big Six” teams.
However, things haven’t gone to plan this season either as while Mauricio Pochettino has done his best so far, the Blues’ still sit in 11th place and are well off a European spot at the moment. The chances of them getting there is rather slim at this point as the point gap between them and sixth place Manchester United is 8 points.
But things seem to have gotten even worse as the Blues’ fans have lambasted Nike over the leaked 2024/25 home kit.
Chelsea fans unhappy with leaked Nike home kit
The leaked Nike design for the 2024/25 season has a strange ocean-like wave pattern with orange tips on the sleeves and around the club badge as well as the Nike logo. The leaked design, as per Footyheadlines.com, also has a glossy feel to it, not unlike the current kit but that hasn’t gone down well with the fans. More than a few have hit out at the sports company and want Chelsea to renege on their current deal with Nike.
Some have even asked the club to go back to Adidas while others have blamed Chelsea’s lack of success since the Nike jersey deal. The away kit for the 2024/25 season was also leaked by Footy Headlines and that got even more criticism from the fans as many compared it to the new England kit. The Three Lions will play in Euro 2024 at the end of the season and their jerseys for the tournament have been released.
It has seen many fans compare the leaked away kit with the new England shirt and there are a few similarities between the two. However, while fans continue to hit out at Nike, there is little chance of Chelsea cancelling their deal with the company as they signed a 15-year agreement in 2016. That was after they ended a 6 year deal with Adidas to join forces with the American sports company.
