Chelsea agree deal to sign Mike Penders
The Blues are closing on another goalkeeper Mike Penders, who will become Chelsea’s tenth active goalkeeper following his move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are reportedly paying Genk £17m (€20 million) for the 19-year-old goalkeeper.
Penders has impressed the Belgian U19 and has captained his national side and will be loaned back to Genk, before heading to Stamford Bridge next June. Chelsea have already signed Filip Jorgensen from Villarreal this season and are currently bloated in the goalkeeping department.
With as good as five players wanting to be the club’s first-choice, we can expect a number or two exits either on loan or a permanent deal this summer.
