Florian Wirtz transfer value revealed after drawing attention from European giants

Bayer Leverkusen CEO Fernando Carro has admitted that the Bundesliga champions are ready to sell Florian Wirtz, but only for a fee of €150 million. Wirtz’s dazzling displays with the side this season has alerted the big guns of Europe, who could come knocking at his door in the summer.

Die Werkself won the Meisterschale last Sunday with five games to spare as Xabi Alonso’s swashbuckling side created history with their first ever title in the competition. Wirtz has been among their star performers, netting 11 goals and making a further 10 assists from 29 games.

His remarkable tally hasn’t gone unnoticed by top sides such as Manchester City, who have long been an admirer of his. Liverpool and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested too, whereas Real Madrid have been linked with the player of late.

Such huge interests make Wirtz a hot commodity, but the asking price set by Leverkusen could be a turn off. Carro, the Leverkusen CEO, told Spanish channel Radio Marca:

“No one is unsellable, but Wirtz will not leave for less than €150 million”

It will be interesting to see if any club would actually shell out that kind of money for the 20-year-old, who although has the world at his feet.

Bayer Leverkusen’s historic Bundesliga title is down to several players displaying a strong run of form. Many of them could be a target of big clubs in the summer. Patrick Schick has been largely used in a substitute role, but has impressed nonetheless with 11 goals in 24 games. Jeremie Frimpong has been another talisman for Die Werkself this season with 12 goals and 11 assists. Amine Adli and Jonas Hoffman could also be eyed.
