Barbastro 0-4 FC Barcelona Player Ratings: Barcelona stroll past fourth tier Barbastro into the Round of 16 of Copa del Rey

FC Barcelona registered a comfortable 4-0 win against the fourth tier side Barbastro, thanks to a brace from Lewandowski and an energetic performance from the youngster Pablo Torre, who got three returns for the night. Barcelona will move into the Round of 16 and will wait to learn about who their opponents will be.

A historic night for Barbastro, who already knocked out Espanyol in this season’s Copa del Rey, they were prepared to cause a nightmare to the Catalan giants. The hosts made only one change to their XI while Barcelona heavily rotated. It was the visitors who dominated the game, completely overwhelming the opposition. They were rewarded with the opening goal via Eric Garcia, who headed de Jong crosses which was nodded into his direction by Araujo. They doubled the lead soon, when Lewandowski gently nodded the ball into the net again, assisted beautifully with a brilliant cross by Pablo Torre. The only highlight for the hosts was a long range effort which was completely harmless.

The Blaugrana continued their dominance and added a third goal, after Robert Lewandowski coolly slotted the ball home after linking up with Torre again, who neatly played a chipped pass. Torre then added himself to the scoresheet, when his relentless pressure caused the opposition to lose possession in a dangerous area, on which he capitalised neatly. Barcelona then rotated their starters to give them rest, while Barbastro tried their best to give something for the home fans to cheer for. While Barbastro had some moments where the fans got up from their seats, it was smooth sailing for the visitors who sealed the game.
