Aston Villa make a move for Joe Gomez

Aston Villa are looking to make a move for Liverpool’s wantaway defender Joe Gomez, who could be available in the region of €35-40m this summer. The versatile defender is reportedly high on Unai Emery’s list and have identified Gomez as a key target.

The England international is considering his future after he was left out of Liverpool’s first game against Ipswich Town last week. Gomez has gone down the pecking order following the arrival of Arne Slot and he wants to join a club where he would be guaranteed regular minutes.

Gomez will be a tempting target for a number of clubs but it remains to be seen whether Aston Villa step up in their pursuit of the English defender.
