Aston Villa is interested in re-signing Jaden Philogene after activating his matching rights
Hull City winger Jaden Philogene’s future looks bright as a host of Premier League clubs are gunning for the winger’s signature. Philogene who came through the Aston Villa academy moved to Hull City last summer for a mere £5million fee.
But the 22-year-old enjoyed a sensational season with the Tigers in the Championship, contributing towards 18 goals in all competitions and clubs like Barcelona, Everton and his former club Aston Villa are reportedly in the chase for his signature.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Villa have activated their matching rights clause in the deal and are keeping tabs on his development. But if Hull City receives any higher bids from other interested parties, Villa might pull out of the race.
Rivals Everton have already tabled a £16 million bid to sign the highly-rated winger this summer and it would be interesting to see whether the Tigers are ready to offload the 22-year-old at a bargain price.
