Arsenal vs Everton: as it happened
Arsenal failed to win the Premier League but their performances deserve respect. They registered a 2-1 comeback win against Everton on the final day. Idrissa Gueye’s deflected free kick gave the visitors the lead (40′). Takehiro Tomiyasu’s thumping equalizer (43′) and Kai Havertz’s winner (89′) sealed the win for Arsenal. Arsenal:
David Raya– 6.5: Didn’t have too much to do throughout the evening. The Spaniard made a couple of good saves.
Ben White– 6.5: Not White’s best outing. He wasn’t as impactful as he has been for the majority of the campaign.
William Saliba– 7: Once again a solid display from Saliba. Played the ball around well and also did his defensive duties.
Gabriel– 7: Was solid as long as he was on the pitch. Gabriel, however, had to be taken off in the second half due to an injury.
Takehiro Tomiyasu– 7.5: Played a good game. He scored a thumping equalizer in the first half to put Arsenal back level.
Thomas Partey– 7: Partey was impactful and passed the ball around well. He also did the dirty work defensively.
Declan Rice– 7: Once again the engine of the team. While Everton’s goal bounced off him, Rice did his work in both ends of the pitch.
Martin Odegaard- 7.5: Tried to carve out constant opportunities for his team. Played some great balls into the box in the first half. Had a great chance to give his team the lead, which was saved by Jordan Pickford.
Gabriel Martinelli-7.5: Was bright throughout the game, especially in the second half. Martinelli looked like a problem to deal with.
Kai Havertz– 7: Made a few silky touches throughout the game. Havertz also scored to give his team the lead.
Leandro Trossard– 6.5: Not Trossard’s best performance. Didn’t make the impact Mikel Arteta would have hoped him to do.

Jordan Pickford– 7: Made a few crucial save throughout the game. Pickford looked very tough to beat.
Seamus Coleman– 7: A veteran’s performance from an experienced player.
James Tarkowski– 7: Once again showcasing Everton’s defensive resolve. Yet another good outing from Tarkowski.
Jarrad Branthwaite-7: He keeps growing in stature. Branthwaite put on yet another impressive display.
Ashley Young– 6.5: The experienced Young made a horrendous mistake in the second half that allowed Havertz’s goal.
James Garner– 6.5: Didn’t make too much of an impact throughout the game.
Idrisa Gueye– 7: Everton’s goal was awarded to Gueye. He was also solid during the game.
Amadou Onana– 7: Onana had a good outing and was solid throughout the game.
Dwight McNeil– 6.5: Didn’t make too much of an impact throughout the game.
Abdoulaye Doucoure– 6.5: Didn’t have the best performance. Doucoure didn’t create too much for his team.
Dominic Calvert Lewin– 7: Had a good performance. Hit the woodwork and also caused a few problems for Arsenal’s defense.
