Argentina 2-0 Canada: Player ratings as holders reached finals after Alvarez and Messi strikes
Argentina reached the finals of the 2024 Copa America after beating Canada 2-0 in the last four. Julian Alvarez and Lionel Messi struck apiece to send them through and will face either Uruguay or Colombia on Sunday. Here are the player ratings for both sides.

Gonzalo Montiel – 7/10: Excellent positional awareness and reading ability
Cristian Romero – 7/10: Strong, athletic and industrious to keep Argentina’s defense from getting breached
Lisandro Martinez – 6/10: Couldn’t get involved quite like his centre-back partner although Canada rarely threatened
Nicolas Tagliafico – 5.5/10: Misplaced a few passes and didn’t come up trumps going forward either
