Al Nassr 4-0 Al-Wasl Player Ratings: Ronaldo strikes twice as Al Nassr cruise past Al-Wasl in the AFC Champions League

Al Nassr defeated Al-Wasl 4-0 in the seventh round of the AFC Champions League at Al-Awwal Park on Monday to climb up to the third position in the West section of the league. The hosts were the dominant side in the fixture with an attacking pair of Cristiano Ronaldo and John Duran, who completed a big money move from Aston Villa in the January transfer window.

Cristiano Ronaldo-led side opened the scoring around the 25th minute after a distant strike from midfielder Ali Alhassan. They doubled their lead after Sadio Mane’s header hit the arm of an opposition defender and a penalty was awarded. The Portuguese superstar made no mistake in converting the opportunity from the spot.

At the start of the second half, the away side were in desperation as they tried to pull things back in their favour but it was not the case. In the 78th minute the five time Ballon d’Or winner completed his brace against the run of the play. Mane gave a perfect cross for the Portuguese legend after chasing a through ball on the left side of the pitch. Around the end of the game substitute Al Fatil scored the fourth goal to ensure Al Nassr’s victory.

Ronaldo was awarded the player of the match for his brace and the player, who is about to turn 40 remained pretty active on the pitch and was always a threat for the opposition. They will now face Al Feiha on Friday in the Saudi Pro League.
