Ajax take a comical dig at Manchester United following double signing from Bayern Munich

Manchester United have completed a sensational double transfer from Bayern Munich by capturing the signatures of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui. The pair have completed all the formalities and are now ready to begin the journey in the Premier League with a fixture against Fulham on the weekend. Mazaraoui and De Ligt will be reunited with Erik ten Hag who coached them at Ajax Amsterdam.

The Dutch manager’s admiration for players he has previously coached at Ajax is no secret. Since his appointment at Old Trafford in 2022, Ten Hag has signed the likes of Lisandro Martinez, Antony, and Andre Onana, all of whom have worked with the 54-year-old in the Eredivisie. Following the arrivals of the de Ligt and Mazraoui, the Dutch club took to their social media with a hilarious troll, “Manchester is Red”, with a wink emoji.

Apparently, the Manchester United and Ajax story is still far from over. Barcelona midfielder, Frenkie de Jong is also high on the wishlist at United and the club is willing to pay a substantial fee for his services. Erik ten Hag has demanded the signing of de Jong for three seasons now and looks to eventually get his wish fulfilled. The influence of Ajax on the coach’s decisions and philosophies cannot be undermined.
