AC Milan 0-0 Juventus: Player Ratings as Khéphren Thuram Shines in Goalless Draw

AC Milan and Juventus played out of the most boring matches in Serie A history. Both teams were unwilling to take risks at San Siro and wanted to keep possession of the ball to ensure their opponents did not create chances.

The home side needed all three points on Saturday to get back in the title race, but missed the opportunity. They are now stuck at 7th and could slip to 8th if Bologna win their match.

The Old Lady could have gone to the top of the table, but Thiago Motta decided to play safe today. They are still unbeaten but are 3 points behind Inter Milan.

Mike Maignan – 7.5: Had to make just two saves in the game and was hardly troubled. He spent most of the match outside the box waiting for his teammates to pass the ball to him.

Defenders

Emerson Royal – 7: Was up and down the right flank but never managed to get on the ball a lot. He misplaced just one pass today but his crossing was not good enough.

Matteo Gabbia – 6.5: Did not have a lot to do today as he was never troubled by the Juventus attackers. He won all his duels and never committed a foul.

Malick Thiaw – 7: Similar to Gabbia, and was excellent in passing the ball around the back. His long balls were also spot on, and he never put a foot wrong today.

Theo Hernández – 7.5: Had the chance to win the game with the final shot on the match, but his attempt was saved. He did not have a lot to do defensively and was more involved in the attack.

Midfielders

Ruben Loftus-Cheek – 7: PLayed 70 minutes, but the former Chelsea man was hardly involved in the match. He did not create chances nor make it forward to shoot.

Youssouf Fofana – 6.5: Got booked for arguing with the referee and took a wild shot on goal. It was off-target and never looked like he was going to do anything in the final third.

Tijjani Reijnders – 6.5: All over the pitch but never managed to get into the game when needed. Played the whole match but was just waiting to block the counters more than making things happen for his team.

Forwards

Yunus Musah – 6.5: Stuck to the right wing and never drove into the box when needed. Failed with his all his dribbles and just one cross was successful.

Álvaro Morata – 5.5: Played the whole game but managed just one shot in the match. It was not on target and never came close to get on the scoresheet.

Rafael Leão – 6: Lucky to be not sent off in the game as he got booked for arguing with the referee and was then judged to have dived inside the box.

Michele Di Gregorio – 7: had to make just one save in the match today and never had to make do anything special the entire game.

Defenders

Nicolò Savona – 6: Did not have a lot to do defensively and never made it forward to attack. He was in his own half most of the time and hardly got involved.

Pierre Kalulu – 7: Solid defensively but hardly troubled by Morata. Won almost all his duels and did not misplace a single pass in the game.

Federico Gatti – 6.5: Took a wild shot on goal from miles out today, and that turned out to be one of their best efforts on goal. Defensively, he was decent and looked in control throughout the match.

Andrea Cambiaso – 7: Stayed back and defended his position throughout the match. Never looked out of position and was comfortable going forward on rare occasions.

Midfielders

Manuel Locatelli – 7: Controlled the midfield and was always one step ahead of the AC Milan midfielders. Was quick to get into the right positions to intercept passes or stop moves from developing.

Khéphren Thuram – 8: Man of the match today as he was dominating the midfield. He never shied away from duels and was ready to jump in and stop the moves started by AC Milan.

Francisco Conceição – 6: Got outdone in the first half and was troubled by Rafale Leao. That played on his mind and he was iffy in the second half.

Kenan Yıldız – 7: Was up and down the left flank but never looked like he was going to score today. He had one shot on goal but did create two good chances.

Forwards

Teun Koopmeiners – 6.5: Played out of position and looked very much like it was something he was not comfortable doing. One shot in the game and that was also off target.

Weston McKennie – 6.5: He was also playing as a False9 that was dropping deep to defend. However, he spend most of the time defending that doing anything in attack.
