In a post-match talk show at Sky Sports, football pundits Jamie Carragher, Jamie Redknapp, and Izzy Christiansen were all analyzing and praising Slot’s impressive football. Suddenly a quick banter between the Liverpool manager and legend Jamie Carragher was observed, which Carragher later shared on his social media handle “X”.
Post-match, when the three pundits mentioned above were discussing the game with presenter Kelly Cates, suddenly Arne Slot came from the back to join them. At that moment, Carragher was speaking.
On seeing Slot, Cates started looking at him instead of Carragher. To which Carragher laughed and said, “I’m talking to you and you’re not even looking at me!” In reply, Slot hurried to the desk and jokingly asked, “Does anybody ever listen to him?”
The other pundits found this punchline hilarious and started laughing hard. Slot too took the banter in a sporting way, saying to the audience, “”Arne Slot just putting me away on his Anfield debut!!” The light and hilarious moment was later shared by Arne Slot on his “X” handle.
Arne Slot’s next challenge
With the official Anfield debut over successfully, Slot will need to welcome tougher challenge in the next one. They will face arch-rivals Manchester United next, away from home, at the iconic Old Trafford.
This fixture will be a test of nerves and a tactical masterclass. As, when these two arch-rivals clash, the atmosphere is always tense. Also, a game against Erik ten Hag will be enough to show the world if he fits well in Klopp’s shoes.
