OFFICIAL: Clement Lenglet joins Atletico Madrid on loan

Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet has completed his transfer to Atletico Madrid on a season-long loan. He spent the last two seasons on loan at Tottenham and Aston Villa in the Premier League and was part of Barcelona’s pre-season tour in the United States.

The French defender was deemed surplus to Hansi Flick’s requirements and Barcelona also needed to offload a few players to register summer signing Dani Olmo.

“FC Barcelona and Atlético Madrid have reached an agreement for the loan of the French defender Clément Lenglet until 30 June 2025. There is no option of a permanent transfer,” the club statement read.
