Arne Slot not convinced by Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate

Liverpool manager Arne Slot does not rate French defender Ibrahima Konate, who arrived at Anfield from RB Leipzig three years ago. The 25-year-old centre-back has worked briefly with the Dutch manager and Slot was reportedly left unimpressed with him.

There is also his injury record which has raised concerns among the Liverpool hierarchy and Slot believes the player does not possess the technical ability to match his demands. Konate’s future is now under threat and could find his playing time reduced further in this upcoming campaign.

Konate was regularly left out of the starting XI and both Jarell Quansah and Joel Matip slotted in his place towards the end of last season.
