Arsenal really close to signing Euro 2024 winner Mikel Merino

The Gunners are on the verge of signing Real Sociedad midfielder Mikel Merino, who has been a top target for Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta. His current deal with Real Sociedad expires in the summer of 2025 and Arsenal have reportedly offered €30m for the Spaniard.

Merino has been identified as the ideal midfielder who could complement Declan Rice at the heart of Arsenal’s midfield and provide a much-needed balance on the left side of the pitch.

His transfer could be wrapped up in the coming days according to transfer pundit Fabrizio Romano.
