Girona Secure Gabriel Misehouy from Ajax
Girona have confirmed the signing of Gabriel Misehouy from Ajax and this marked their third major transfer this summer.
The 18-year-old midfielder who left Ajax after his contract expired on June 30 has completed his medical and is now in Spain to finalize the move.
Girona are preparing for their first season in the Champions League and so they have been active in the transfer market.
Deals for Ladislav Krejci and Abel Ruiz are already complete and Misehouy’s arrival further strengthens Michel Sanchez’s squad. The Catalan club fought off competition from several clubs including Lille as well to secure Misehouy.
Misehouy’s addition could impact Pablo Torre’s future at Girona. Both players operate in similar positions. Torre is likely to leave Barcelona again this summer and might need to find a new destination.
Misehouy is expected to join Girona’s pre-season training next week solidifying their midfield options for the upcoming season.
