West Ham United Close to Signing Jhon Duran

West Ham United have made significant progress in their pursuit of Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran. The club has already submitted a bid worth £35M including a 10% sell-on clause.

Transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano reported that West Ham have already agreed on personal terms with the 20-year-old striker. Negotiations between the two clubs are now underway.

Manager Julen Lopetegui is keen to reinforce the squad and too especially in the forward position.

While Michail Antonio has been a consistent presence he lacks the clinical edge required for the Premier League. Jarrod Bowen has filled in admirably but with his and Danny Ings’ futures uncertain a new striker is essential.

Duran’s physical style of play suits West Ham’s recent tactics. If the deal goes through he would be a promising replacement for Antonio. But the main concern is whether Aston Villa will demand more for the relatively unproven striker who scored just eight goals last season.
