Zlatan Ibrahimovic Criticizes Young Defender for Wearing Gloves on AC Milan Debut
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has disclosed that during the club debut of Pierre Kalulu, he forced the AC Milan defender to remove his gloves.
What Zlatan Ibrahimovic Said to Pierre Kalulu?
After joining Milan in the summer, Kalulu played in the Europa League for the first time as a senior in December.
Ibrahimovic strongly objected to the 20-year-old’s request to wear gloves on a frigid evening against Sparta Prague.
According to SoccerLaduma, he stated to CorSport,
“Some weeks ago, Pierre Kalulu made his debut with AC Milan and he was wearing gloves.”
“I told him to take them off! How does a young centre-back look making his debut with gloves?”
“For sure he’s not going to scare the striker.”
While initially seeming harsh but eventually Ibrahimovic’s guidance appeared to resonate positively. Milan secured a clean sheet and clinched victory with a 1-0 win over Sparta Prague at that point in time.
Ibrahimovic further added saying,
“When Kalulu made his debut for Milan and he was wearing gloves, I told him to take them off!”
“How can a young central defender making his debut play with gloves? With gloves, he’ll never be able to scare the opposing attacker.”
The emergence of young talents like Kalulu underscores the club’s commitment to nurturing promising prospects within its ranks.
