Wolves still need to answer several questions in the transfer window with the new Premier League season looming

With the departure of their former captain and center-back Max Kilman, Gary O’Neil and Wolves opened up a space for a possible replacement to be poached in the ongoing summer transfer window. However, despite being heavily linked with two defenders in the form of Thomas Beelen from Dutch club Feyenoord and Nico Elvedi from Borussia Monchengladbach, reports inflict the talks aren’t so advanced with regards to either of them at this stage.

Even though the Old Gold are expected to potentially get a deal done for a new center-back before the transfer window closes, the situation is kind of still giving creeps to the Wolves’ fans considering Yerson Mosquera hasn’t featured in the Premier League till now, and other available defender Santiago Bueno is still new to the league.

The only two players that can be heavily relied upon in the center of the defense are Craig Dawson and Toti Gomes as of now. The area certainly needs reinforcement or quick decisions need to be taken on the club’s part to prevent any unfortunate situations when the new season starts.

Another aspect of the Wolves squad that still needs to be sorted out is whether they should keep the lacks of Goncalo Guedes, Fabio Silva, and Daniel Podence or set them free to leave as these players’ futures at the club are reportedly still uncertain. While Goncalo Guedes has traveled with the first team to the USA for the pre-season, he is still expected to leave (via Liam Keen – Wolves Correspondent for Express & Star).

Fabio Silva’s future at the club looks bleak with the Old Gold bringing in Jorgen Strand Larsen this summer.

Out of these three players, Daniel Podence looks most likely to still make a career at the Molineux. Gary O’Neil has agreed to the fact that he would like to keep the Portuguese winger if possible. Meanwhile, Greek club Olympiacos are still attempting to bring in Podence in a permanent move after he impressed last season there.
