Wolves Injury Update ahead of Premier League tie against Arsenal
With Wolves set to take on Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday at home, here’s a key Wolves injury update ahead of matchday 34.
Wolves Injury Update as Craig Dawson is ruled out of Arsenal tie
In the build-up to the club’s Premier League tie against Arsenal, Wolves have been dealt a massive blow as experienced campaigner Craig Dawson is set to miss the tie. The center back sustained a groin injury on 13 April and is now expected to grace the sideline till June. His absence will certainly leave a hole in the defense of Wolves.
Meanwhile, at the other end of the pitch, things aren’t going too well for Wolves either. In an upsetting Wolves injury update for fans, striker Matheus Cunha who had recently returned from injury has sustained yet another injury in training. The latest injury will see the ex-Atletico Madrid man spend time in the injury ward at least till May. He will yet again join forward Pedro Neto in the injury ward as Pedro continues to recover from his hamstring injury.
Wolves will also enter the tie against Arsenal at the Molineux stadium without the services of left winger Noah Lemina as the winger suffered a hamstring injury in training.
However, the biggest blow revealed by the Wolves injury update is the recent injury of Nelson Semedo. The Portuguese right back is an integral part of the Wolves set up and his absence will certainly affect the side not only in defense but in attack as well. The ex-Barcelona man sustained a calf injury in the past week and is now set to return in mid-May.
Semedo isn’t the first fullback to sustain a calf injury for Wolves as only a few days earlier Rayan Ait Nouri was dealt a calf injury as well. The left-back has been recovering well, but the Wolves injury update doesn’t reveal when he will return to the side. It is unlikely that he will participate in the tie against Arsenal.
Injuries have taken their toll on Wolves’ performances
While Wolves made a deep run into the FA Cup and have had an impressive season in the Premier League till now, their recent form has been awful. The residents of Molineux stadium have now failed to win any of their last five outings with their last win coming more than a month back against Fulham. The latest Wolves injury update reveals a shocking amount of injuries to crucial players, directly impacting their results and performances on the pitch. While few expect Wolves to improve against Arsenal on the weekend, a victory or draw could certainly boost the club’s morale.
