Will Alvaro Morata be available for Spain’s final against England?
Spain captain Alvaro Morata has dealt with a freak injury in a post-match collision with a security guard during the semi-final win over France at the Allianz Arena.
As he celebrated with his teammates on the sidelines after his side’s intense 2-1 victory over France, a security guard fell into the forward while chasing a pitch invader. Morata looked in a lot of pain after the guard fell onto his right knee and was visibly hurt as he walked off the pitch.

The Atletico Madrid star has been named captain of the La Roja squad in Euro 2024. He appeared to have suffered an injury after an accidental collision with a security personnel who was attempting to halt a pitch invader.
Morata was seen limping and holding his tight knee raising concerns over the forward’s availability in the Euro 2024 final against England. The incident has sparked fears in the Spanish camp for Morata’s latest injury whose experience will be an asset as Spain heads to the final.
Manager Luis de la Fuente has expressed optimism and believes the injury is not a major one for the 31-year-old striker, who could be available on Sunday night at the Olympiastadion Berlin.
He told reporters: “With Alvaro, we are going to wait until tomorrow. We don’t think it was anything, it was during the celebrations but we think he’s going to be OK.”
Despite scoring La Roja’s opening goal of the tournament, Morata didn’t find the back of the net in any of the other games but has played a key role in their run to the final of this summer’s tournament.
