Why Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich will be a success?

Bayern Munich are surprisingly set to appoint Vincent Kompany as the next manager. The Belgian is currently the coach of Burnley and the Clarets got relegated from the Premier League this season. Kompany, however, is surprisingly linked with one of the biggest jobs in world football.

While some are surprised by Kompany’s links with Bayern, the Bavarians are perhaps focusing on style over substance in their choice. Kompany, who won the Premier League four times as a player, managed to implement a style to his Burnley team.

The Clarets rely on possession-based football and building from the back. They rarely rely on crossing and counterattack. Burnley’s style is easy on the eye. They put on impressive numbers in terms of passing accuracy, successful passes completed, and more.

Burnley, however, lacked the effectiveness in the final third. As a result, they struggled to find the back of the net. Some fans might wonder if a more direct style of play could have seen Burnley stay in the Premier League.

However, Kompany believes in his methods and that can land him one of the biggest jobs in world football. At Bayern, Kompany will have world-class players at his disposal. Successful implementation of his methods could give the Bavarians the identity of one of the smoothest teams in European and world football.

In the counter logic, one might opine that Kompany just saw his team relegated from the Premier League. That shouldn’t be a stain on the former Manchester City captain’s accomplishments. Even an accomplished manager like Jurgen Klopp saw his Mainz side get relegated earlier in his career. Hence, a successful spell at Bayern could be enough for Kompany to restore his reputation as one of the best young coaches in world football.

Bayern initially wanted Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso and Feyenoord’s Arne Slot. However, Alonso will stay at Leverkusen while Slot is Liverpool-bound. Hence, they have now settled on Kompany.

Update on Vincent Kompany to Bayern Munich

According to Sky Germany, Vincent Kompany has a verbal agreement to join Bayern Munich. A deal, however, is not yet finalized. Kompany has a contract with Burnley until 2028. Hence, the Clarets expect a compensation fee from Bayern. Bayern directors Max Eberl and Christopher Freud are reportedly very interested in Kompany.

Apart from Kompany, Mauricio Pochettino is reportedly also on Bayern’s radar. The Argentine has recently parted ways with Chelsea. Bayern’s camp have reportedly gathered information about Pochettino. Kompany, though, looks like the current front-runner to take over at the Allianz Arena.
