Where to watch UEFA Champions League draw free live stream?
The draw for the UEFA Champions League takes place on the 29th of August in a completely new format. 36 clubs will now be participating in a new look league phase and will no longer play three teams twice like it used to be, but will instead take on eight different teams, four at home and four away.
The top eight sides after the league phase will qualify automatically for the knockout stages, while the teams finishing in 9th to 24th will compete in two legged play offs to secure a place in the last 16 of the competition. Teams ranked between 25th -36th are eliminated from all competitions.
How does the UEFA Champions League draw work?
The 36 clubs have been seeded into four pots based on their club coefficient at the start of the season. Each team will be drawn against two different teams from each pot, playing one team at home and one away. In the league phase, teams cannot face opponents from their own country and a maximum of two opponents from any other country.
First, all 36 teams will be drawn out with a physical ball on stage, manually, like it used to happen in the previous draw. Then, for every team, a designated automated software (through the supercomputer) will pick out eight opponents randomly from across the four pots.
