West Ham Set to Smash Transfer Record in Pursuit of Bundesliga Striker
West Ham United are reportedly poised to make a significant move in the transfer market as they aim to secure the services of Bayer Leverkusen’s Victor Boniface, with indications suggesting a willingness to break their transfer record for the Nigerian striker.
Victor Boniface, who arrived at Bayer Leverkusen from Union SG for £19 million in the summer, has been in scintillating form under the management of Xabi Alonso.

The 23-year-old has netted ten goals in the German top flight, contributing to Bayer Leverkusen’s rise to the top of the league table, with a total of 16 goals across all competitions.
Despite a recent adductor injury sidelining Boniface from the Africa Cup of Nations, West Ham remains undeterred in their pursuit. According to reports from The Sun, West Ham’s technical director, Tim Steidten, a former employee at Bayer Leverkusen, is actively working towards sealing what is described as a “massive swoop” for the talented striker.
The report suggests that Steidten’s past connections with Leverkusen could play a crucial role in the potential success of the transfer, and a deal might be finalized before the transfer window closes.
Additionally, West Ham has surprised many with an inquiry for Aston Villa striker Jhon Duran, who is seeking more playing time after playing second fiddle to Ollie Watkins this season.

Alan Nixon, a reliable source with close ties to West Ham manager David Moyes, revealed on his Patreon that Moyes is supportive of Steidten’s judgement and is considering a £50 million bid for Boniface. The move aligns with Moyes’ desire to secure a proven striker for the club.
Earlier reports in the month had linked Boniface to Arsenal, with the striker reportedly on Mikel Arteta’s shortlist. However, West Ham appears to be making significant strides in their pursuit, backed by the financial capacity to break their transfer record.
