West Ham negotiating deal to sign N’Golo Kante
West Ham United are making waves in the transfer market as they negotiate a deal to sign French midfielder N’Golo Kante.
The Hammers are in talks with Saudi Pro League club Al-Ittihad to secure the services of the 33-year-old according to a report from the Guardian.
Kante who recently showcased his enduring quality at the Euro 2024 Championships is seen as a perfect fit for West Ham’s midfield needs after Kalvin Phillips’ underwhelming loan spell last season.
Manager Julen Lopetegui is a known admirer of Kante whose illustrious career includes Premier League titles with Chelsea and Leicester City.
The potential transfer fee of around £20 million is under discussion though some question the wisdom of such an investment in a player nearing the end of his career.
Kante’s experience and pedigree, however, could prove invaluable as West Ham aims to solidify their midfield. If a loan or a reduced fee can be negotiated this could be a strategic coup for the London club.
