Watch: Kylian Mbappe’s goals in the second leg of the Barcelona vs PSG clash that helped the French side book a semi-final spot
Paris Saint-Germain needed to win with a two-goal margin when visiting Camp Nou in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final. However, the French side exceeded their minimum requirement to secure a place in the semi-final.
One of the brightest stars in the game was Kylian Mbappe. The aggregate was 4-4 following Raphinha’s early goal and PSG’s two goals from Ousmane Dembele and Vitinha. The visitors needed to score just one more to conclude the game and make their way to the final four as Ronald Araujo had already received a red card.
Kylian Mbappe’s goals
Mbappe was really there when his team needed him the most with his two goals. The first one came in the 61st minute from the penalty spot after Joao Cancelo fouled Dembele. The 25-year-old forward put the nail into the coffin as he scored one last goal 28 minutes later.
Starting from a counter-attack, Mbappe initially aimed the shot right to the spot where Marc-Andre ter Stegen stood. The ball then glided into Jules Kounde who cleared it carelessly and directed it to Mbappe’s path.
Standing free, Mbappe struck the ball with his left foot and beat ter Stegen this time to seal the deal for PSG. In the semifinal, Les Parisien will face Borussia Dortmund who also made a dramatic comeback over Atletico Madrid.
