Venezuela 0-0 Uruguay Player Ratings as La Vinotinto settle for a draw despite dominating for most of the match

Uruguay were held once again in their campaign for qualifying for FIFA World Cup 2026 as Venezuela were able to secure a goalless draw at Estadio Monumental de Maturin. This draw extended the away team’s winless run in the qualifiers to four matches as they were earlier held against Paraguay in the farewell match of Luis Suarez.

With an expressive crowd behind them, the hosts were on top in the early stages of the game as Uruguay were depleted with injuries and suspensions for this game. Venezuelan striker Salomon Rondon came close to breaking the deadlock but narrowly headed it wide of the target.

Venezuela looked more superior in the game as Rondon consistently appeared to be a goal threat but could not find one. Telasco Segovia also came close in the second half only to be denied by a magnificent save by Sergio Rochet. The conditions were also not favourable to play as there was a time when it was difficult for the ball to even roll around the pitch but the referee Raphael Claus did not show any intention to suspend the match.

Let’s have a look at the Venezuela vs Uruguay Player Ratings.
