The Venezuelan striker who is one of the first names on the team sheet has registered 41 goals in over 100 appearances for the national side. Salomon Rondon scored a brace and led Pachuca to their sixth CONCACAF Champions Cup title earlier this month. He was also awarded the tournament’s Golden Boot with nine goals.
Santiago Gimenez
The 23-year-old Feyenoord forward has registered 23 goals and six assists in 30 games in the Eredivisie this season. He failed to make it to the World Cup squad in 2022 but the striker looks like the only Mexican player to make his mark in Copa America this summer. Gimenez has been linked with a move to the Premier League this summer, with Arsenal and Liverpool both battling for the forward’s signature.
Venezuela vs Mexico Prediction
Venezuela national football team have been labeled as one of the underdogs for Copa America this summer. They made a historic comeback in their last game against Ecuador to secure a 2-1 win in their opening game of the tournament. Their best-ever finish in the South American tournament came in 2011 when they secured the fourth position in the competition. But La Vinotinto have a poor track record against Mexico who are favorites to top the group.
