Valencia vs Real Madrid Player Ratings – Jude Bellingham redeems himself and rescues his team as Vinicius gets sent off

Jude Bellingham became the hero again after redeeming himself when he missed a penalty as Real Madrid clinched another victory in the dying minutes, beating Valencia 2-1. The visitors will be relieved with the result as they widened the gap with their city rivals Atletico Madrid, who are two points behind them currently with a game in hand. Valencia on the other hand, will be kicking themselves for not being able to see it through, as the three points would have helped them to come out of relegation spots.

The new Valencia manager Carlos Corberan’s tenure was to a brilliant start, with Valencia finding joy down the right side with Foulqier bursting forward from defence, and he played a crucial role in the opening goal. The Valencia right-back picked out Guerra inside the box, but the Spanish midfielder’s shot was parried. Duro was there to meet the rebound, and he fired into an empty net to give his side the lead. Madrid’s best chance of the game fell to Valverde inside the box, but he fired his shot straight down the throat of Dimitrievski.

Real Madrid got a chance to pull one back when Mbappe knocked the ball past his marker and bursted into the Valencia box and was knocked down by Tarrega, which won them a penalty. But it was fruitless as Bellingham failed to convert it, as the English midfielder took a little hop and skip in his run up, and he striked it against the inside of the woodwork. But they thought they did not have to worry about it for long, as Mbappe, with a very quick shift of his feet and ball, striked it into the back of the net to pull one back, which got ruled off for offside. Madrid was the side who dominated a lot in the second half, yet had nothing to show for it. Things took an ugly turn when Vinicius got sent off at the Mestalla again, this time after an altercation with the opposition goalkeeper, Dimitrevski. But that did not slow Madrid down and they finally got the goal when Modric poked the ball past Dimitrievski between the sticks. In the dying moments of the match, Guilamon attempted to pass back to his goalkeeper, but his effort is under hit, which was capitalised by Bellingham, who ran onto it, and he bent the ball into the bottom corner to save his team again!

Midfielders

Forwards

Diego Lopez: 6/10 – He was off to a bright start but slowly got faded away and rightfully was subbed out.
