Valencia closing in on Alaves winger

Valencia are pursuing Alaves winger Luis Rioja, according to Revelo (via Football Espana). Los Che have been a long-time admirer of his, and seems like a move is finally materializing this summer. Rioja still has a year left on his contract with the Babazorros, but they are ready to let him leave on a €1.2-1.3 million-worth transfer.

Valencia are currently negotiating the terms, aiming to reach a three-year deal for the 30-year-old. The move, once finalized, will be a huge blow for Real Betis, who were also said to be interested in the forward earlier this year. Rioja joined Alaves in 2019 and racked 149 appearances for them, scoring 17 times, including five in La Liga before their relegation in 2022.
