Group Standings and Points Table After Round 2 of UEFA EURO 2024

The 2024 European Championships got off to a remarkable start for hosts Germany as they were the first side to secure qualification to the knockout rounds of the tournament. Germany’s Jamal Musiala secured his second goal of the tournament to secure a 2-0 win over Hungary. Scotland and Switzerland played out a draw and the latter could win the group if they beat Germany in their final group game.

In Group B, Spain secured a humble 1-0 win over Italy and secured their position in the last 16. Barcelona‘s Lamine Yamal set the record for the youngest to appear in the tournament at just 16 years and 338 days old. Albania and Croatia held out a 2-2 draw. Euro 2020 winners Italy must win against Croatia to finish as runners-up in the group.

In Group C, England is still at the top of the standings despite a 1-1 draw with Denmark and will be through if they don’t lose their final game against Slovenia. Slovenia and Serbia also drew their game and are currently the two bottom teams.

Then in Group D, World Champions France sustained a 0-0 draw with Netherlands in their second group tie. Poland are already eliminated and could not reach the top 16.

For the first time in European Championship history, all teams of Group E are level on three points after two matches. Either team can progress or get eliminated in the final matchday before the round-of-16 fixtures.

We also saw some exciting matchups in Group F, where Portugal took all three points against Turkiye with impressive displays from midfielders Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva. The Selecao stormed into the round of 16 as Group F winners. Newcomers Georgia held a remarkable 1-1 draw with Czechia and can progress to the next round if they manage to beat Portugal in their final game.
