Tottenham 4-3 Manchester United: Player Ratings as six different players score in a thrilling quarter-final match

Tottenham hosted Manchester United at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the EFL Cup quarter-finals on December 19 and secured a thrilling 4-3 win to advance to the next round.

Spurs made a decent start to the game and grabbed the lead after 15 minutes as Dominic Solanke was sharp in the box to score. However, neither side could create much else in the first period as the hosts led 1-0 at half-time.

Tottenham made a great start to the second half as Dejan Kulusevski scored within the first minute of the restart. Solanke then made it a brace for himself just eight minutes later to give his team a 3-0 lead. Two terrible errors from Fraser Forster saw Manchester United being gifted two goals. However, Heung-min Son scored from a corner to make it 4-2.

Jonny Evans grabbed a late headed goal but it was too little, too late. Manchester United lost the game and were knocked out, while Tottenham move to the semi-finals. On that note, let’s take a look at the player ratings.

Fraser Forster – 4.5/10

He made two terrible errors that cost Tottenham two goals.

Pedro Porro – 6.5/10

Porro had an average game on the right side of defence.

Radu Dragusin – 6.5/10

Dragusin had a decent game as he won one duel and made seven clearances.

Archie Gray – 6.5/10

Gray won three duels, making four clearances and two blocks as well.

Djed Spence – 7/10

Spence had a good game and bagged an assist for his team’s third goal.

Midfielders

Pape Matar Sarr – 6.5/10

Sarr had a subpar performance in midfield and was also booked.

Yves Bissouma – 7.5/10

Bissouma played two key passes and won nine of his 11 duels in a combative midfield performance for Tottenham. He also made six clearances, three blocks and one interception.

James Maddison – 7/10

Maddison passed the ball with 84% accuracy and won six duels in a good midfield performance for Tottenham.

Forwards

Dejan Kulusevski – 7.5/10

Kulusevski had a good game as well, scoring one goal, completing four dribbles and winning eight duels.

Heung-min Son – 7.5/10

Son played one key pass and won three duels and scored an extraordinary goal from a corner to make it 4-2.

Dominic Solanke – 8.5/10

Solanke was sharp in the box and scored with his only two shots in a great performance.

He replaced Maddison but could not make an impact.

Altay Bayindir – 5.5/10

He made one error that led to a goal and was also booked in a subpar performance.

Leny Yoro – 6.5/10

Yoro won six duels, making three clearances and three interceptions.

Victor Lindelof – 6.5/10

The Swede had a decent first half but was subbed off with an injury just before the break.

Lisandro Martinez – 6.5/10

Martinez had a decent game as he won four duels, making three clearances and one interception.

Noussair Mazraoui – 6.5/10

Mazraoui played well but was booked for a foul.

Christian Eriksen – 6.5/10

Eriksen passed the ball with 88% accuracy and won his only duel. However, all three of his shots were off-target.
