Tottenham vs Bournemouth Player Ratings: A 2-2 Score Saw Both Teams Share The Spoils After Full Time

Postecoglou’s squad went head to head with the in-form Iraola’s team on 9th February in the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The match picked up his pace and the goals came in. First from the Cherries as they were in 0-2 lead, props to Evanilson and Travenier. However, the Lilywhites made it 2-2 with a goal from Son and Sarr.

The match started with a mistake from Romero who almost gifted a chance to Evanilson, who missed the chance and the ball went for corner. The 3rd minute of the game saw Bournemouth with another chance, this time with Kluivert. This time too, the Cherries failed to convert from an open play.

It was a fast-paced game in the early minutes with both teams on the attacking front. However, both of the teams were sloppy in the first half and gave away possession a lot of times pretty easily. A moment of magic from Kerkez in the 41st minute saw an inviting cross to Travenier, who slotted it for 0-1. After the normal 45 minutes, 1 extra minute was given. However, the score stayed 0-1.

As the second half resumed, Spurs made a double substitution. In the 51st minute, a counter attack from the Cherries saw double their lead. However, the goal was disallowed. 64th minute saw a glorious drop-of-a-shoulder from Kluivert that followed with a clever pass to Evanilson, who made it 0-2. A moment of individual brilliance from Sarr in the 66th minute caught Kepa off-guard and made it 1-2 for the hosts.

A moment of disaster saw Tottenham get a penalty after Kepa unnecessarily took out Son from the ball in the 83rd minute. Son stepped in and cheekily converted the kick to end his goal drought and made it 2-2. After the full time whistle, the score stood 2-2. Here are the Tottenham vs Bournemouth player ratings.

Tottenham Player Ratings

GK-Vicario-4.5/10

Made a couple of crucial saves in the early minutes of the game to deny Kluivert and Evanilson. He was helpless when Spurs conceded the first goal.

RB-Porro-5/10

Looked very promising going forward. His first-half game seemed as if Ange had given him offensive duties. Tried to beat Huijsen with his pace a lot of times.

CB-Romero-4.5/10

Made a sloppy error at the beginning of the game. Almost gifted the visitors their first goal. Was subbed off right at the hour-mark. His center back partner Van De Ven came in to replace him.

CB-Danso-4/10

Looked uncomfortable when the Cherries started coming on from the flanks in the first half. His duties increased in the second half.

LB-Spence-4/10

Had to stick close to his center back partner to fend off the threats coming from the Bournemouth wingers.

CM-Bentancur-4/10

Took his time along with his teammate to establish dominance in the midfield. Got himself booked in the game. He was taken off as Maddison came into the game on the 60th minute.

CM-Bissouma-4.5/10

Rather the better player in the midfield for the Lilywhites today. Cut the Cherries’ midfield a lot of time with his passes. Got booked after stopping Evanilson illegally at the 44th minute. He was subbed off at the beginning of the game to ensure he doesn’t get sent off.

CM-Sarr-4.5/10

Just like the games have been this campaign, his presence in the midfield has been integral in today’s fixture as well. He scored the first goal for the Lilywhites in the 66th minute by catching Kepa off-guard.

RW-Johnson-4/10

Looked sharp with his attacking duties today. His linkup with Solanke almost opened up a golden opportunity for them. He was subbed off in the 45th minute as Ange wanted to introduce Son.

LW-Odobert-4/10

Seen the most balls in the Tottenham’s front line today. However, not once, he cut in to have a go on the goal.

ST-Solanke-4/10

His presence in the front line of the Lilywhites gave the balance to the attacking threats of the game.

Manager-Ange Postecoglou-4/10

Made the changes needed to be made to change the results. He was rather relieved with the score.

Sub-Son-5/10

Came in the 45th minute to change the course of the game. His 53rd minute shot almost gave the Lilywhites the equalizer they were looking for. Scored the second goal in the 82nd minute from a penalty.

Sub-Bergvall-3.5/10

Came along with Son as Postecoglou wanted a better performance from his team. Had a commanding presence ever since he came on.

Sub-Maddison-5/10

Came in the match on the 60th minute and he was welcomed with loud cheers from the fans.

Sub-Van De Ven-4/10

Was subbed in for Romero on the 60th minute.

Bournemouth Player Ratings

Justin Kluivert

GK-Kepa-4/10

Really had nothing to do in the first half. He was caught off-guard in the 66th minute and allowed a goal from long distance. Conceded the penalty rather unnecessarily.

RB-Cook-4/10

Looked lethal going forward, and why not given it seemed like he was given a green signal to do so.

CB-Hill-4/10

Was the perfect partner for Huijsen today! However, he failed to read the Spurs’ attacks in the second half, which was one of many reasons why they conceded two goals.

CB-Huijsen-5.5/10

The Dutchman had a good defensive performance today. Stood his ground and admirably combatted the pace from Tottenham wingers. His positioning has been top class this game.

LB-Kerkez-5/10

Recently been linked to a Liverpool move. The Hungarian had a quiet start contrary to his games recently. He became lively in the 41st minute and in his only run forward in the first half made all the difference as he assisted Travenier with a stunning cross.

CM-Christie-4.5/10

Was a busy first half for Ryan. He tried his best with Adams to make sure of their presence in the midfield today. He was subbed off in the 70th minute as he was seen struggling in the field.

CM-Adams-4/10

Played his role rather well. Was naturally disappointed with his team giving away possession just like that.

CAM-Kluivert-4/10

Missed a couple of chance in the first half. The form he is in, he should have converted those. His 51st minute goal from a counter attack was disallowed. He made a beautiful assist for Evanilson.

RM-Semenyo-4.5/10

Just another day for Semenyo. Glided through the Tottenham defense time to time but was not that effective. Looked frustrated when he was caught offside in the Kluivert goal.

LM-Travenier-5/10

Scored the first goal from a cross coming from Kerkez. Arrived in the box just in time to give his team the lead. He had a better match today in contrast to the last couple of games.

ST-Evanilson-4/10

Missed the first chance of the game to give his team the lead. Was fouled in the 44th minute, otherwise had another opening to redeem himself. Scored the second goal in the 64th minute. He was subbed off 6 minutes later.

Manager-Iraola-4/10

Was not happy with the result. However, he is happy that it didn’t affect their momentum.

Sub-Outtara-4/10

Came in to replace Evanilson in the 70th minute.

Sub-Scott-4/10

He came on the 70th minute to replace Christie, who has been struggling.

Sub-Sinisterra-4/10

Came on the 89th minute to replace Semenyo.
