Tottenham Hotspur plotting a move for Aston Villa midfielder in a potential player plus cash agreement: Report

According to ‘Sky Sports’, Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly eyeing a surprise move for Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey. Spurs are keen on a player plus cash deal for the player. The Tottenham player who could be offered by the club amidst the deal is Giovani Lo Celso.

Jacob Ramsey’s current contract with Aston Villa expires in June 2027. So, he still has time left on his contract with the Midlands-based club. Considering that Villa could demand a notable fee for the 23-year-old attacking midfielder. It is understandable why Spurs are looking to model their interest in the player in a deal that will be more suitable to them.

If Villa does accept the player plus cash deal proposal, it will mitigate the amount that the North London club would have initially paid for him. As per ‘Transfermarkt’, the chances of Spurs getting a deal over the line for Ramsey currently stands around 70 percent. The England-born player played 16 Premier League matches last season for Unai Emery’s side. He only managed a sole goal and an assist in those outings.

Ramsey does stand out as one of the significant midfield options that Unai Emery has at Villa currently. So, it would be interesting to find out if the club could let him go or not. In return, the player that they might get in Giovani Lo Celso also happens to be an attacking midfielder by profile. The most important thing is that Jacob Ramsey is a tailor-made player for the style of football that Ange Postecoglou wants to play at Spurs.
