Fantasy Premier League (FPL) is back and bigger than ever. The game has exploded in popularity, with millions of fans competing against friends, colleagues, and strangers for virtual glory. Offices and social circles have become battlegrounds as players strategize their way to the top of the league tables.
Scoring goals is the ultimate currency in FPL, making forwards the most coveted players. Building a potent attacking force is essential for any manager aiming to challenge for the title. With careful selection and a bit of luck, the forwards can determine your chances of FPL glory.
As the Premier League kicks off this weekend, there are a number of factors that determine whether or not you should pick a player at the beginning of the season. Pre season form, how the player is being utilised, how the team are playing, whether new signings have been made – everything needs to be analysed before selecting a player. Fixtures are another notable thing, as they determine how long you should ideally keep a player in your team. We at SportsDunia are here to help you with some attackers you should choose to begin the season with.

#1 Erling Haaland

Erling Haaland at £15.0m remains the most expensive pick by some margin and is at least, a whopping £6.0m more than any other player in his position. The Manchester City star is certainly the most likely to deliver a huge haul of points this time too. He is undeniably the Premier League’s best striker and an absolute must-have for all FPL managers. Despite a slightly less prolific campaign by his standards last season, he clinched the Golden Boot and amassed an astonishing 217 FPL points. That colossal £15m price tag might seem exorbitant, but the numbers he brings are unparalleled. If he maintains his fitness and form, Haaland is on course to shatter his own league scoring record once again.

#2 Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak at £8.5m is currently the most-owned player in the game and for valid reason reason. The Swedish international scored 21 goals in 27 starts last season and his numbers are only expected to get better if he can stay fit. He is widely accepted as one of the best forwards in the league and will be Newcastle’s first choice penalty taker as well. Newcastle’s fixtures from Gameweek 1-5 do not get much than they are. They play Southampton (H), Bournemouth (a), Spurs (H), Wolves (a) and Fulham (a). Expect Isak to provide a fair few attacking returns in this period.

#3 Kai Havertz

Kai Havertz had a decent debut year for Arsenal. The German managed 13 goals and 10 assists for the Gunners. Most of these goal contributions came after the season was halfway done, when he shifted to the number #9 role. The German is quite a bit ahead of Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order now and can be said to be quite a safe pick. Arsenal were one of the best attacking sides in the league last season. They scored 91 goals , the second most in the league. Mikel Arteta’s side also have some really good games in the first couple of fixtures, including Wolves , Brighton, Leicester, Southampton, and Bournemouth, which could see Havertz score heavily.

#4 Rodrigo Muniz

Rodrigo Muniz has rapidly become a coveted asset in FPL following a breakout campaign last time around. Establishing himself as Fulham’s focal point in attack, the young Brazilian is expected to be their main source of goals. Possessing a lot of raw talent and a physical presence, Muniz excels as a penalty-box predator.
Marco Silva’s attacking philosophy provides an ideal platform for Muniz to thrive. Fulham have built a really solid XI, evident in signings like Emile Smith Rowe and Ryan Sessegnon, making Muniz even more appealing as an FPL asset.
If Muniz can replicate last season’s impressive 9 goals and 1 assist return, his £6.0m price tag will make him a shrewd acquisition for FPL managers once again. His 97-point haul highlights his potential value. Fulham’s first few fixtures are decently favourable as well.

#5 Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez is an FPL gamble with his high risk, high reward potential. His blend of pace, power, and aerial ability is undeniable, but inconsistent finishing has often left fans and FPL managers frustrated alike. Priced at £7.5m, the Uruguayan is a differential pick who could explode if he finds his shooting boots. Last season’s 132 points are a hint at his potential. The arrival of Arne Slot, known for his attacking philosophy, could be a turning point. If Nunez can adapt to Slot’s system and improve his clinical edge, he has the potential to be a devastating FPL asset. However, his starting spot remains uncertain with players like Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota, adding to the risk for managers. Liverpool have arguably the best fixtures to start of the season and Nunez could benefit from that.
