Tom Brady the NFL legend linked up with Lionel Messi and co-owner David Beckham after attending Inter Miami’s recent MLS fixture against Cincinnati last weekend. The herons secured a resonating 2-0 victory over Cincinnati at the DRV PNK Stadium, thanks to Luis Suarez, who netted a captivating brace to confirm his side’s MLS Play-off birth.
Post Match, Tom Brady, who was in attendance in the stadium and later posed with the Eight-time Ballon Dor winner — Messi and Beckham. The trio’s click was posted by the retired NFL star with an amusing caption that read: “I’m bringing Lionel Messi back to Birmingham with me. Sorry, David Beckham.”, on his Instagram story.
His caption was playfully directed towards Inter Miami co-owners, expressing his wish to bring the Argentine to England to play for his club. Last year, the seven-time NFL champion, Brady had bought a minority stake in the English League One club Birmingham City and has been greatly involved in the football scene post-retirement.
Also, Beckham presented an Inter-Miami shirt to Brady ahead of the game and later posted the picture on his Instagram account which was reshared by the NFL icon, The former Man United star wrote, “The Greatest. Doesn’t get any better. Leo Messi, Tom Brady to watch us go into the playoffs.” in the caption.
When is Lionel Messi expected to return for club duties?
The Argentine forward is currently underway in his recovery from the ankle injury that he suffered during the Copa America 2024 final against Columbia. As per early reports and Inter Miami coach Tata Martino, Lionel Messi is recovering well and could be marking his return in the MLS play-off and even before the Wrap-up of MLS league fixtures in October.
In the mix, the World Cup winner has also been dropped from the Argentina squad by head coach Lionel Scaloni for the upcoming two key CONMEBOL FIFA World Cup qualifier matches against Chile and Columbia, in the September International break.
