Ayoze Perez Injury: Forward is doubtful for Euro 2024 match against Albania
Spain managed to register a 1-0 victory against Italy in their second Euro 2024 fixture played at the Veltins-Arena in Germany. With the help of Riccardo Calafiori’s 55th-minute goal, Luis de la Fuente’s team finally made that greater share of possession count and walked away with all three points on the crucial night. They currently stand at the top spot in the Euros’ Group B table with two back-to-back wins over Croatia and Italy and six points to their tally.
However, despite the win, the Spanish national team would be concerned because of an injury worry to one of their important forward players in the form of Ayoze Perez. As reported by ‘Relevo’ and quoted by ‘Football Espana’, Perez caught muscle injury concerns during his substitute appearance against Italy. The forward reportedly had a muscle strain in his right leg during the latter phase of the match.

The reports have inflicted that his participation in Spain’s next Euro 2024 fixture against Albania remains highly doubtful. Meanwhile, the Spanish Football Federation has issued an official statement from their end regarding Perez’s injury. “The evolution of the symptoms will mark his availability (for the next match)”, the statement reportedly inflicted.
However, Luis de la Fuente does have options if Ayoze Perez remains unavailable for their next game at Merkur Speil Arena. If he decides to rest Nico Williams, players like Mikel Oyarzabal and Dani Olmo can come into the picture to contribute handy minutes against Albania at the left-wing position.
