Southampton Initiates Bid for Brazilian Left-Back Wellington

Southampton have reportedly made a move to sign Welington from São Paulo as their sixth summer acquisition. According to TuttoSport via Sport Witness, the Saints are competing with Serie A club Torino who have already submitted a £3m bid for the 23-year-old left-back.

São Paulo values Welington at £6m and Southampton will need to act swiftly to secure his signature.

This potential signing aims to bolster the left-back position which is already strengthened by the arrival of Charlie Taylor. Manager Russell Martin praised Taylor’s Premier League experience and versatility but Welington’s youth and potential could provide significant competition.
