Slovan Bratislava vs VfB Stuttgart Preview

  • Competition: UEFA Champions League.
  • Date: Tuesday, January 21.
  • Time: 8:00 PM GMT.
  • Venue: Stadio Tehelne Pole.

Slovan Bratislava are set to host VfB Stuttgart in the second-last game of the Champions League group stage at the Stadio Tehelne Pole on Tuesday.

The Slovakian team are currently placed in the second last place of the league with no chance to get into the playoffs. They have no points in the six games they have played. They will fight for their pride in the last two games of the campaign.

So far in the six games they have played in the UEFA Champions League, they have not been able to pick a single point and have conceded the second most number of goals which is 21. In their last fixture against Atletico Madrid, they lost 3-1 after Julian Alvarez and Antoine Griezman with their goals ripped their defence apart. In the last five games, they have won three and lost two. It has been different for them in the 1. Liga, where they are the table toppers with 44 points from 18 games.

On the other hand, Stuttgart are placed in the 26th position with seven points, one point away from the playoff zone. They are levelled on points with French side Paris Saint Germain. In the competition, Stuttgart has won two of the six games they have played and are not currently in a position to qualify but they still have hopes. Two wins in the last two games of the competition can ensure their place in the playoffs if other results go in their favour. They come into this game after defeating Freiburg 4-0 after a dominating performance in the Bundesliga. In the last five games they have won three, lost one and one game ended in a draw.

Now let’s hop on to the team news for this fixture.
