Sir Jim Ratcliffe on Kylian Mbappe: “ It’s more challenging to find the next Mbappe.”
Sir Jim Ratcliffe has been making headlines across football recently after his organization INEOS bought 25% of Manchester United. With the deal going through, there are bound to be many changes across the board and fans are all excited to see injection of new money into the club to buy star players. However, fans might be a tad bit disappointed if they were expecting big signings like Kylian Mbappe. Sir Ratcliffe’s recent interview on the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast clearly indicates that a move for the French international is highly unlikely in the summer.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe on Mbappe, “Mbappé to Man United? I’d try to find the next Mbappé rather than spend a fortune trying to buy success.” Elaborating further Sir Ratcliffe said, “It’s not that clever to sign Mbappé now, it’s more challenging to find the next Mbappé, next Bellingham or next Roy Keane.”
The answer of Sir Jim Ratcliffe on Kylian Mbappe could hint that his vision for the Red Devils could be more than just big signings. He also spoke on selecting the right people to recruit young talents to give United the opportunity to have homegrown talents.
