Sergio Reguilon Injury: When will the Spanish defender return to action for Brentford?

Brentford defender Sergio Reguilon missed his team’s Premier League clash against Arsenal due to an ongoing hamstring issue. The Bees lost the game 2-1 and were without multiple key players, with the Spaniard being one of them.

Sergio Reguilon Injury: Extent of the damage

Sergio Reguilon joined Brentford on loan from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window but has struggled to establish himself as a regular. He has made just seven appearances for the club, providing one assist in the process.

The full back played the entire 90 minutes of a 2-2 draw against Chelsea in the Premier League last weekend. However, he was left out entirely as Brentford made the trip to the Emirates Stadium last night.

Manager Thomas Frank confirmed prior to kick-off that Reguilon will miss the game through injury. The manager also revealed that the defender’s injury is minor, but did not mention when he could make a return to action for the team. Frank has preferred playing Keane Lewis-Potter in the Spaniard’s absence and will continue to do so.

Brentford’s narrow defeat at Arsenal

Despite being short on personnel due to a Sergio Reguilon injury, or fitness concerns for Bryan Mbeumo and Ben Mee, Brentford showed great fighting spirit against the Gunners.

They fell a goal behind after 19 minutes as Declan Rice scored a brilliant header past Mark Flekken. The Gunners dominated possession of the ball and tested the Bees’ patience to its limits. However, the visitors were handed a lifeline as Yoane Wissa forced a mistake from Aaron Ramsdale to score.

With the game deadlocked at 1-1 heading into the closing stages, Brentford tried their utmost to park the bus and sit deep. However, Arsenal had other ideas as Kai Havertz grabbed a goal in the 86th minute to send the Emirates Stadium into raptures. The win sees Arsenal climb to first place in the Premier League table.

Meanwhile, Brentford are 15th and will travel to Burnley for their next game.
